WBTS419 Metamorphosis II: Where Toledo Style Took Flight

There is something special about watching creativity come alive on a runway, especially when it is happening right here in Toledo.

On September 12, I attended Metamorphosis II: Where Style Takes Flight, presented by WBTS419. The evening celebrated fashion as more than clothing. It was about transformation, confidence, self-expression, and the incredible talent growing within our city.

From the moment the show began, the energy felt electric. Kristian Brown brought so much personality to the mic, while the live music and DJ kept the atmosphere moving. The crowd was not afraid to participate either. People cheered for the models, celebrated their favorite looks, and dramatically flapped their fans in approval. It felt less like we were watching a fashion show and more like we were all part of the experience.

One of my favorite moments of the night came from Catherine Lowe’s Rhea collection. The ethereal, cosmic dress immediately captured my attention. The sheer fabric, delicate stars, flowing silhouette, and dreamy movement made the model look as though she had stepped directly out of the night sky. With the Toledo skyline and sunset behind her, the entire moment felt magical.

As someone with a background in fashion, I understand that a runway show only reveals the final few minutes of months of work. Behind every garment are sketches, fabric decisions, fittings, adjustments, long nights, and someone brave enough to turn an idea into something tangible.

That is what inspired me most about Metamorphosis II. It reminded me that fashion can transform more than a person’s appearance. It can transform an idea, a community, and even how a city sees itself.

Toledo has style, talent, and stories worth celebrating. WBTS419 is helping create the space for all three to take flight.
